If Hermann Max Pechstein, then: artist in Berlin and Dresden (1881 Zwickau - 1955 Berlin), pupil of the Dresden Academy, master pupil of Gußmann. After meeting Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Erich Heckel he became a member of the "Brücke" in 1906. 1933 relieved of his teaching position. 1945 Prof. at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin.
