Portrait of a man with grey allonge wig with cuirass and over it a red frock coat after the manner of the Saxon officers under August the Strong before neutral background. Enclosed expert opinion by Dr. Ekhart Berckenhage 1965. Canvas doubled.
French painter, studied with Lebrun and Boullogne. Later deputy rector of the Académie Royale in Paris, then court painter in Dresden for more than 30 years under August the Strong.
