The artist, who is not known by name, received his emergency name "Petrarcameister" after his designs for woodcuts for "Von der Artzney bayder Glück", a German translation of the main work of Francesco Petrarch (1304 - 1374) "De remediis utriusque fortunae" about fates and misfortunes of man.
