Rare Baroque Pompadour Floor. Meissen.
Around 1760.
ø 10 cm.
Reliefed, floral and ornamental openwork. Coloured floral painting, gold painted rim. 6-pass curved rosette form. Sword mark inside. Minimal fire crack on the rim.
The base served as a stand, the fabric of the pouch-like handbag with drawstrings, which served as a closure and handle, was sewn into the tightly standing holes at the rim (also called pompadour) * Partner auction Bergmann.
