Late baroque bedstead with fine marquetry.
19th century
Walnut veneered and burl veneered, maple marquetry, partly ebonized. Approx. 112 (+71,5 cm headboard attachment) x 200 x 132 cm.
Bed with curved side panels, straight headboard and footboard on stud feet, headboard additionally with curved attachment with finest marquetry of the Heavenly Jerusalem and crucifixion scene surrounded by acanthus leaf volutes and palmette, footboard richly marquetry with ornaments of burl veneer, flowers and acanthus leaf volutes, side panels with geometric decoration. Marks of age/use, drying cracks, inactive anobia attack.
