Show mark/master mark JH/protection mark and monogram of the Werkstätte hallmarked. Circa 1909. Austria.
Silver (900). H 22 cm. 181 g.
Basket with stamped, bossed floral design and wide ribbon handle. Several variants of this type by Josef Hoffmann. Soldered spots on the handle attachments. Glass insert is missing.
Literature : Very similar bread basket (1911) with just as wide handle illustrated in: "Wiener Wohnkultur", catalog of the gallery at the Albertina Zetter, fig. 46.
