The porcelain factory Fraureuth AG in Saxony was founded in 1865 and maintained art departments at various locations. The painting department in Lichte specialized in so-called "gallery copies", i.e. copies of famous old master paintings on porcelain plates, vases, plates and boxes, which were decorated from 1917 for the Fraureuth manufactory by local painters. In addition to Alfred Brödel and Karl Büttner, the painter Oskar Dietrich, who came from Lichte, made the majority of the gallery copies on porcelain plates. The plates themselves came in part from KPM Berlin.
