Wooden backdrop (carpenter's board) polychrome painted, partly free moving figures of various materials (metal, glass and porcelain). Unsigned.

Paved square in front of realistically painted palazzo with view over the Grand Canal to the Punta della Dogana. On the raised board stage 2 fixed figures playing theater; the remaining figures are freely movable.
Gerd Krauss was a German stage designer, film architect and painter who studied at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach and participated in the municipal stages of Frankfurt am Main at a young age. His designs and works can be found in more than a thousand cinema and television films as well as renowned opera houses and theaters worldwide. He is the winner of the Prix Italia, the Silver Rose of Montreux, the Telestar and the German Television Award 1989.
