Rare box with ornamental gold painting on cobalt blue background. In each of the 2 quatrefoil cartouches on the wall and lid quality painted landscapes with architecture, equestrian scenes and staffage of people. The form, which resembles the maternity tureens, is based on Asian models. The lid with high gilded handle ring can be used as a bowl. Very good condition, minimal gold wear on the edge of the lid inside.
