Cubist standing figure of the mythical singer of antiquity with his lyre in the version of 1960. The artist was engaged in this theme since 1930 and created a total of seven versions. . 4 string tips missing, 2 with bend marks, damage to the patina, hairline crack casting defects in the bronze plinth.
Belarusian-French painter and sculptor of Cubism who moved to Paris in 1909. For half a year student of the École des Beaux-Arts, debuted in 1911 in the Salon d'Automne, since 1912 fed the group of artists Indépendants and since 1923 the Salon de Tuileries and the Salon d'Automne. From 1914 - 1925 he joined the Cubist movement. He emigrated to the USA in 1941 and returned to Paris in 1945.
