Partially unfinished desert view with a group of Bedouins resting near the mountains under a blue sky in the sunshine. Slight signs of age.
Landscape and architectural painter, first pharmacist, turned to art in 1870 (Weimar with Theodor Hagen), undertook, since 1874 in Munich, major study trips to England, Holland, France and Italy, visited on further trips Algiers, Egypt, Palestine, Greece and Constantinople.
