Blue background, rich gold staffage, pâte-sur-pâte painting on both sides. Signed with the monogram AB for Alboine Birks. Frontal the muse Terpsichore with lyre, back floral arrangement. Mounted stand. Gold base mark, incised mark, press mark with year mark, gold decor no. NP 981.
Gilman Collamore (1834-1888), high-end importer of porcelain. Founded his company in 1861, located at 5th Avenue and 30th Street since 1890. Birks, Alboine (Albion, 1861-1941), pâte-sur-pâte painter. 1876-1937 at the Minton manufactory. Pupil of Marc Louis Solon. Cousin of Lawrence Birks * partner auction miner.
