Basin beater bowl.
17th century Netherlands or Flanders/Belgium.
Brass chased and punched, flanged rim. Ø 50 cm.
Large bowl with domed mirror and rising flag. On the mirror the Fall of Man with Adam and Eve in the ornamental wreath; on the mirror 2-row diamond ornament. Plastered, beading of the flag partly plastered through, small hairline cracks on the edge of the mirror, subsequently zaponiert.
Acquired by family tradition during WW1 in Charleroi, Belgium.
Provenance : From Thuringian noble ownership.
