Large baroque war chest.
Inside adhesive label with provenance information. Mid-18th c.
Wrought iron, painted red inside younger except for the lid. 51 x 97 (without handles) x 52 cm. 85 kg.
Very heavy iron chest with riveted bands on all sides and on the lid. Front side with 2 hasps and 1 mock keyhole with decoration. Hinged carrying handles on the sides. Hinged lid with hidden keyhole under original lockable cover rosette. Interior open lock mechanism with 10 firing latches and 4 fixed tumblers. Younger plywood insert removable. Some weld marks, minor additions, egg straightener with supplemented straightening washer, key reworked, at least the reid supplemented.
