Rare large figure: boy with frog. Meissen.

Model by Johann Christian Hirt 1880-1882. Pendant to model no. M 147 "Boy with lizard". Colorfully painted, gold painted. Incised mark, press mark, sword mark, artist's signet. Natural bottom, cloth tails at the bottom, base partially restored (probably small fire cracks), base edge minimally bumped, small glaze defect on the belly.
Hirt, sculptor, studied at the Academy in Munich. He became popular for his figures from poetry and mythology. Meissen acquired a total of 50 models in 1881-1888 * Partner auction Bergmann.
