Model by Johann Christian Hirt 1881. fairy tale figures of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. Painted in colors, gold painted. Incised mark, press mark, painter's mark, sword mark, artist's signet. Rear doe leg with stress and fire crack, base edge with two small glaze defects, one doe leg minimally bumped, lining restored.
Hirt, sculptor, studied at the Academy in Munich. He became popular for his figures from poetry and mythology. Meissen acquired a total of 50 models in 1881-1888 * Partner auction Bergmann.
