Large black marble mantel clock set. BARRARD & VIGNON, Paris.
France. 2nd half 19th century. Movement no. 3594.
"Barrard & Vignon F ts d' Horlogerie" marked movement with half-hour strike on bell. Functional in short time test. White enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals, minute ring and Breguet hands, recessed center with visible Brocot escapement.
Black marble, brass. Clock H 49 cm, 24.1 kg. Side plate H 31 cm, 5.4 kg.
High stepped case with round top and volute decoration on the side, faceted pendulum window with mirrored back panel. Comes with 2 matching side plates with crowning foot bowls. 1 bowl glued, small edge chips in places, mirror glass with edge chips.
With key and compensation pendulum.
