Majolica, painted in color and colorless lead glaze, partly decorated in gold. H 42 cm, with base H 44.5 cm.
Humorous and grotesque depiction of Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar with their gifts, on a rectangular base. With a loose wooden frame base. Slightly rubbed with gold, some crazing, retouching to the back of the cape.
Martin WIEGAND (1867 Ilmenau - 1961 Munich): Painter, sculptor and draughtsman at the Dresden Academy of Art, from 1910 in Munich with studio and kiln in Nymphenburg.
