Baroque coin scale.
18th century
Ebonized hardwood (walnut?) exterior, iron scales, brass weights. 2.5 17.5 x 9 cm.
Fine weight scales in the flat original box with 2 clasps on the hinged lid; traces of the missing label inside. Finely crafted beam balance with 1 brass plate. Complete set of the 18 original square coin weights with grip bar and inscription; additionally inscribed in red in the box. In the lid compartment a set of 6 balance weights with punched "eyes" from 1 - 6. 1 weighing pan missing, box exterior with signs of age/use, 1 small repair to the base.
