Cavalry officer's sabre 1816.
On the back blade: "E.L. Voigt Haupt Zeughaus Schwertfeger in Dresden". Saxony.
Blade 85.5 cm, total length 103 cm.
Curved, single-edged blade with broad fuller and pandur point. Richly decorated etching, including the Saxon coat of arms and the inscription "Schlagfrei". The back of the blade is also decorated and marked. Double-edged iron hilt, quillons and tapered tang, as well as a narrow, large thumb ring. Leather-covered grip with triple wire winding. Bright metal scabbard with two suspension rings. Scabbard with dents.
