Cavalry officer's sword.
About 1720. Saxony.
Blade L 80 cm, total L 96 cm.
Straight double-edged, richly decorated blade. The ricasso with crossed blades and the Saxon coat of arms, each crowned by the elector's hat. The first quarter of the blade with several passages and inscribed: "Nec temere nec timide, recte faciendo neminem timeas, tandem bona causa triumphat" (partly indistinct), as well as a crowned eagle and the monogram "AR". Brass grip with fine copper wire winding. Hilt with heart-shaped guard plate in braided design..
