Musketeer's sergeant's sword(?), circa 1780.
Saxony.
Blade L 59 cm, total L 71.5 cm.
Straight, single-edged blade with a broad fuller. The ricasso bears the monogram "FA" crowned on both sides with an escutcheon. Brass grip with straight quillons and engraved "R. VIII. m. C. No VII." for 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Company, Weapon VII. Riveting on pommel probably replaced, monogram somewhat worn.
