"Sigmund Karl August Ringler (1837 - 1918) was employed as a trainee at the Nymphenburg manufactory after attending the trade school in Nördlingen and the polytechnic school in Munich in 1855. As early as 1856, he joined the Meissen manufactory, where he first worked as an assistant embosser, then as an embosser and finally, from 1887, as a modeller. In addition to figurative models in the rococo style, he created realistic depictions of birds such as this swan."
