White painted armchair in a geometric design with vertical struts, black and white woven seat and cushions with geometric patterns; originally designed in 1903 by Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser for the Purkersdorf Sanatorium near Vienna. Signs of age/use, cover soiled.
Josef Hoffmann (1870 Piernitz - 1956 Vienna); Austrian interior and furniture designer, co-founder of the Wiener Werkstätte. Koloman Moser (1868 Vienna - 1918 Vienna); Austrian painter, graphic artist and craftsman; one of the most important artists in Vienna.
