Wooden club made from a grown piece of wood, l 42 cm. / Drinking vessel made of polished coconut with two small brass rings, h approx. 15 cm. / Monkey head mask, wood, painted, h 19.5 cm.
Provenance : From Thuringian aristocratic property. Restitution property with inventory number of the Altenburg Residential Palace, formerly part of the von der Gabelentz family collection at Poschwitz Castle. Probably brought back by Georg von der Gabelentz (1906-1954) from a trip to Java (1937). He was a lawyer with a great interest in ethnography.
