Small music box with 18 plates. Polyphon.
Gemarkt, movement no. "14389". Circa 1900.
Softwood with red-brown lacquer and imprint, gold-bronzed cast iron base plate. 11.5 x 19.5 x 18.5 cm, plates Ø 16.5 cm, comb 7 cm.
Square box; "Polyphon" imprint (barely legible) with flowers on the hinged lid. Pull lever in the front, ratchet winding mechanism and setting lever on the side. Color lithograph "Polyphon" with conducting dwarf and birds on the lid. Movement base plate marked with no. and reed comb on the ratchet wheel; central drive. Identically marked plates, e.g. Weihnachtslied, O du fröhlichen, Stille Nacht, Gebet nach dem Zapfenstreich, Die schöne Polin, Des Sommers letzte Rose. Movement running. Case with signs of age/use, small repairs to the hinges. Traces of rust on movement, comb and plates, some plates not legible, 1 plate with crease marks.
