Bronze figural pendule with glass dome.
France. Mid-19th century. Movement no. 106.
Unmarked movement with half-hour strike on bell. Runs. Silver-plated and engraved dial with Roman numerals, minute ring and Breguet hands.
Bronze. Clock approx. 36 x 27 x 8 cm, 3.1 kg. Glass dome H 45 cm, 1.6 kg.
High ornate base in Baroque style with a crowning youth as a man of letters on a natural piece. In addition, a glass lintel with ebonized wooden base. Attribute of the right hand missing, dial rubbed, glass dome with signs of age and wear.
Pendulum with thread suspension, without key.
Provenance : From Thuringian aristocratic property. Restitution item with inventory number of the Altenburg Residential Palace, formerly part of the von der Gabelentz family collection at Poschwitz Castle.
