Rare "Berlin lacquer vase" with chinoiserie.
Blue brush mark. Circa 1840/50.
Sand-colored body, stuccoed and covered with black-blue and black-green, partly lustrous lacquer, painted in white, green, red, yellow, bronze and silver, partly with gold leaf decoration, white pewter glaze inside and on the stand. H approx. 65 cm.
Baluster vase with offset cylindrical neck and bell-shaped lid with sculptural dog pommel, high, recessed stand ring. The wall with Asianized shore landscapes with pagoda architecture, boats and figural staffage, surrounding borders of tendrils and latticework as well as flowers and leaves. Alt restored, with defects.
