Painter, illustrator, representative of Impressionist graphics, trained at the Kunstgewerbeschule and the Kunstakademie Karlsruhe from 1899. From 1907 to 1908, he worked as a designer at the Meissen porcelain manufactory before joining the Berlin Secession around Max Liebermann in 1908. From 1919, Meid taught etching at the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts.
