Letter from Ernst Ludwig Kirchner to Nele van de Velde dated March 20, 1924: "I am sending you today 'en récompense' a book illustrated by me: 'Neben der Heerstraße' by Boßhart. [...] Boßhart, who has unfortunately just died, was my dear friend and friendly patron of my work.
