Baroque coin scale. Friedrich Täuber or Däuber.
1 punched weighing pan. 18th century Nuremberg.
Ebonized hardwood (walnut?), iron scales, brass weighing pans and weights. 2.5 x 15 x 7.5 cm.
Fine weight scales in the original flat box with clasp on the hinged lid; inside paper-covered with characters. Finely crafted beam scales with differently shaped weighing pans. Complete set of the 11 original square coin weights with grip bar and inscription. In the compartment with sliding lid 3 balance weights with punched "eyes" (2, 3 and 5). 1 handle bar missing, lid balance weights replaced, some signs of age/use.
Friedrich Täuber or Däuber was a scale maker in Nuremberg and became a master in 1744.
