Leaded glass window hanging picture in Renaissance style.
Early 20th century Switzerland.
Colorless glass partly stained in color, black solder painting, lead rods, rope suspension. 44 x 32 cm.
After the coat of arms disc of the Prince Abbey of St. Gall in the cloister of Muri Abbey, Canton Aargau with the inscription "Diethelm von Gottes Gnade Aptt zu Sanct Gallen 1557". Framed by columns, statues of St. Gallus and St. Otmar with abbot's staff and mitre in the center; below the coats of arms of the abbey (bear), the county of Toggenburg (dog) and Prince-Abbot Diethelm Blarer von Wartensee (rooster); in the upper picture Gallus in prayer and with the bear. Minimal traces of age/use.
