Meandering river in the sunshine and adjoining village in a wide landscape.
Painter and etcher in Weimar and Schwaan/Mecklenburg. Studied at the Akademie der Künste Berlin and at the Grand Ducal Saxon School of Art in Weimar under Theodor Hagen as a master student. Later taught landscape painting there and subsequently became a professor.
