Linen damask. 176 x 129 cm.
Woven according to a design by the Swedish textile artist Signe Sohlman, with a beige broderie anglaise in the Nordic style of highly stylized intertwined dragons. Central diagonal cross-band decoration.
Signe Sohlmann (1854-1878) was a Swedish painter, draughtswoman and textile artist. In 1874, while still a student at the Stockholm Art Academy, she designed the dragon pattern in the Old Norse style. 2 information sheets about Signe Sohlmann enclosed.
