Rare Marcolini lidded cup. Meissen.
1782-1814. model no. H 30.
Height: 11 cm.
Model by Johann Carl Schönheit and colleagues 1782-1784. Architecturally articulated square shape with fluted columns and capitals. Stepped lid with openwork rim, crowned by a double-sided bust. Very fine grisaille painting all around, three reserves with blue background. Painter's mark, sword mark with star. Vertical crack to the wall and one half of the base restored.
