2nd half of the 20th century
Silk on silk, extremely fine hand-knotting. Polychrome decoration with predominantly salmon red and midnight blue. Approx. 105 x 153 cm.
Almond-shaped medallion with curved edges on a pale red mirror interwoven with trailing flowers and leaves, framed by a multi-part border with palmette tendrils, twisted and knotted fringed ends. Leather-reinforced long sides on the verso. Slight signs of age and wear, minor defects to the pile in places, in need of cleaning.
