Biedermeier grandfather clock case with baroque movement.
Probably Saxony. Around 1700 and around 1810.
Baroque iron wheel movement with verge escapement and hour strike on bell. Function not tested. White enamel dial inscribed and dated "Johann George Aschenbrüher 1695", Roman numerals, chased brass hands, cusp pendulum with brass lens, ropes, 2 weights.
Birch and burl wood, solid and stained cherry wood. Approx. 210 x 47.5 x 23.5 cm.
Straight body with attached clock case with round glass window and openwork arched segments on the sides, pendulum case and protruding base with coffered front and round arched segment. Ebonized, shield-shaped keyhole inlay. Movement in need of cleaning and restoration. Signs of age, partial defects, inactive anobia infestation, probably missing crown attachment.
