Model by Karl Groß (1869-1934) circa 1915, cutlery pattern no. 5401. 51 pieces: 6 knives, 6 forks, 5 tablespoons, 6 dinner knives, 6 dinner forks, 5 coffee spoons, 6 cake forks, 6 fruit knives with gilt silver blades, 1 gravy ladle, 1 large serving spoon, 1 small serving spoon, 1 serving fork, 1 sugar tongs. Thread decoration on both sides, floral relief, engraved monograms, knives with steel blades. Hallmarks: Crescent and crown, fineness, factory mark.
Groß, sculptor, goldsmith, designer, studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Munich. Resident in Dresden since 1898, professor at the Dresden School of Arts and Crafts in 1900, 1914-1933 its director * Partner auction Bergmann.
