Model by Karl Groß (1869-1934) around 1915, cutlery pattern no. 5401. 51 pieces: 6 knives, 6 forks, 5 dinner spoons, 6 dinner knives, 6 dinner forks, 5 coffee spoons, 6 cake forks, 6 fruit knives with gilt silver blades, 1 brine ladle, 1 large serving spoon, 1 small serving spoon, 1 serving fork, 1 sugar tongs. Thread decoration on both sides, floral relief, engraved monograms, knives with steel blades. Hallmarks: Crescent and crown, fineness, factory mark.
Groß, sculptor, goldsmith, designer, studied at the München School of Arts and Crafts. Resident in Dresden since 1898, professor at the Dresden School of Arts and Crafts in 1900, director from 1914-1933 * Partner auction Bergmann.
