Design classic, solid quality workmanship, knives with original stainless steel blades. Hallmarks: Crescent and crown, fineness, factory mark. In a wooden cutlery box with brass fittings, two bowls and hinged lid by Wilkens & Söhne, Hemelingen. Hinged lid with stains.
The design was awarded a gold medal at the 1960 Milan Triennale and exhibited several times. The cutlery manufactory was founded by Carl Hugo Pott in Solingen in 1904 as a Damascus ornamental workshop. After his son Carl Pott joined the company in 1932, it developed into a major manufacturer of cutlery. In 1985, his son Hannspeter Pott took over the business.
