Van de Velde, painter, graphic artist, architect, designer, studied at the academy in Antwerp. 1907-1914 director of the art school in Weimar, 1907 founding member of the Deutscher Werkbund, 1926-1943 director of the Institut Supérior des Arts Décoratifs in Brussels.
