Beauty chained to the rock in a provocative pose. Patina stained, chain and 1 chain attachment to the rock missing, 2 drilled holes from removed plaque on the side.
Andromeda was chained to the shore rock to be offered as a human sacrifice to a sea monster of Poseidon. According to an oracle, this was the only way to atone for her mother Cassiopeia's hubris towards the Nereids. However, the hero Perseus kills the monster and marries Andromeda.
