Extensive dinner service with the coat of arms of the von Gemmingen family.
Unmarked, 2nd half of the 19th century, marked "I.v.G." and "M.v.G." on the underside.

With polychrome flower and fruit painting and the coat of arms of the von Gemmingen family on the rim. 26 dinner plates (Ø 23 cm), 6 soup plates (Ø 22.5 cm), 6 salad plates (Ø 20.5 cm), 8 compote bowls (Ø 15 cm), 13 dessert plates (Ø 20.5 cm), 2 oval plates (L 38.5 and 48 cm), 1 vegetable plate (Ø 29 cm), 1 lidded bowl (Ø 29 cm), 2 bowls (Ø 26 and 28.5 cm) and 2 different footed bowls (H 6.5 and 13.5 cm). Bump to 3 dinner plate rims, hairline crack to 1 compote bowl and 1 dessert plate, hairline crack to the rim of 2 dessert plates and the larger oval plate.
The pieces were made between 1856 and 1876 on behalf of the Baronesses of Gemmingen, Bessenbach Castle, and bear the coat of arms of the von Gemmingen family. The larger footed bowl and a dessert plate are marked on the underside of the foot "Julie Frf. v. Gemmingen geb. Fr. v. Gienanth. Schl. Bessenbach. 1857" (= Juliane [Julie] Baroness von Gemmingen-Hornberg [Baroness von Gienanth], 1811 Hochstein - 1890 Bessenbach).
