Historical micromosaic necklace, according to tradition from the property of the Princess of Liegnitz.
Frame and chains each tested yellow gold 585, the clasp ends of the chains tested silver. Center including suspension drop length up to approx. 8.5 cm, chain length approx. 40 cm, can be additionally adjusted or extended using the ribbon. 37,7 g.
Rare micromosaic necklace, probably from the 2nd third of the 19th century with micromosaics arranged in a gradient, alternately depicting romantic-idealized ruins and pastoral scenes with rural working people. Typical of the period, without a clasp; the necklace is closed with a ribbon (black velvet ribbon included). The framing of the mosaics and the chains are worked in gold, but the chains are reinforced with a short silver chain at each of the two clasp points, presumably to increase their resilience when worn. Comes with a historical case.
Provenance : The necklace is said to have come from the estate of Auguste von Harrach, Princess of Liegnitz (1800-1873), second wife of the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III (1770-1840).
