Baroque silver verge pocket watch. James Hinksman, Bridgnorth.
England. Late 18th century
"James Hinksman, Bridgnorth N° 789" signed brass full plate movement with magnificent floral engravings and florally pierced verge bridge with vase motif, cylindrical movement pillars, verge escapement, chain and fusee, blued screws, keywind. Functional in short time test. White enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, minute ring and brass hands.
Strolling lion/city mark Birmingham/year letter T (1791)/master's mark and customs mark King George III (1786-1821) hallmarked. Clock Ø 4.3 cm, mantle Ø 5.3 cm. Total weight 130 g.
Smooth case with high bar, in a smooth silver watch case. Signs of age and wear, minute hand replaced.
