Small baroque silver verge pocket watch. Isaac Hewlett, Bristol.
England. 2nd half 18th century
"Isa[ac] Hewlett, Bristol" signed brass full plate movement with florally pierced balance cock and florally pierced verge bridge with bird motif, profiled movement pillars, verge escapement, chain and fusee, blued screws, keywind. Functional in short time test. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, minute ring and brass hands.
Strolling lion/city mark London/year letter J (1764)/master's mark SP hallmarked. Clock Ø 4.2 cm, mantle Ø 5 cm. Total weight 101 g.
Smooth case with high bridge. Smooth silver watch jacket. Signs of age and wear, dial partly with defects, traces of soldering.
Isaac Hewlett, Bristol, clockmaker, 1743, died 1778, without key.
