Galvanoplastic (copper with bronze patina). Inscribed. 32 x 44 x 17 cm. 6.4 kg.
A magnificent lion standing on a hill, probably taking in the weather.
Hungarian sculptor, pupil of Zala, studied at the Munich Academy under Hackl and Eberle. He celebrated his first major success at the Millennium Exhibition in Budapest in 1896; at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900, he was represented with 100 sculptures, which were awarded the Grand Prix, among other prizes.
