The cutlery manufactory was founded by Carl Hugo Pott in 1904 as a damascening workshop in Solingen; after his son Carl Pott joined the company in 1932, it developed into a major manufacturer of cutlery, and in 1985 his son Hannspeter Pott took over the business. Hoffmann (1870-1956), architect and designer, studied at the Academy in Vienna, 1899-1937 professor at the School of Arts and Crafts in Vienna.
