Biedermeier picture cup with lyre player. KPM Berlin.
Zeper mark and red painter's mark, 1817-1823.
Polychrome painted, decorated in gold. Cup (h 11.5 cm), completed saucer (Ø 14.5 cm).
Footed bell shape with rolled beaded handle. On the front a gold-framed rectangular cartouche with the depiction of a young woman sitting at a window playing a lyre, behind her a cupid boy standing, verso matt pink background with gold-painted and etched tendrils, gilded inside. Hairline crack at the base of the handle.
