Rare Biedermeier microscope in original box.
Unmarked. 1st half 19th century
Brass, cardboard case with black leather cover, red marbled paper inside. Case 12 x 9 x 6.5 cm. 0.5 kg.
Travel microscope disassembled into individual parts in 3-piece case. Signs of age/use almost only on the case, probably 1 small missing part, 1 eyepiece bent at the edge and without lens.
Provenance : The microscope was always family-owned and originally belonged to the first physician of the family - Dr. Johann Kopf, who lived from 1830 to 1898.
