49.5 x 37.5 cm. Framed : 63 x 51 cm (black lacquer frame with gold stucco molding).
The body of water in front of a dense group of trees and a meadow slope in the evening. A very small restored area.
Painter and etcher in Weimar and Schwaan/Mecklenburg. Studied at the Akademie der Künste Berlin and at the Grand Ducal Saxon School of Art in Weimar under Theodor Hagen as a master student. Later taught landscape painting there and subsequently became a professor.
